യുക്രെയ്ന് തീരത്ത് ചരക്കുകപ്പലിനുനേരെയുണ്ടായ റഷ്യന് ആക്രമണത്തില് 10 പേര് കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു. എട്ട് ജീവനക്കാരെ രക്ഷപെടുത്തി. മരിച്ചവരില് മലയാളിയും ഉള്പ്പെടുന്നു. കാസര്കോട് വെള്ളരിക്കുണ്ട് സ്വദേശി അഖില് ജോയന്(26) ആണ് മരിച്ച മലയാളി. ഇന്ത്യയില്നിന്നും സിറിയയില്നിന്നുമുള്ളവരായിരുന്നു കപ്പലില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്. ‘ഗോള്ഡന് ലിയോ’ എന്ന കപ്പലാണ് ആക്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ടത്. മുംബൈയിലെ കമ്പനിയുടെ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ളതാണ് കപ്പല്. ഒഡേസ തുറമുഖത്തിന് സമീപമായിരുന്നു ആക്രമണം.
കഴിഞ്ഞ കുറച്ച് ആഴ്ചകളായി ഒഡേസ മേഖലയിൽ തുടർച്ചയായ റഷ്യൻ ആക്രമണങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നുണ്ട്. ജൂലൈയിൽ മാത്രം റഷ്യൻ ആക്രമണങ്ങളിൽ 28 പേർ മരിച്ചതായി ഗവർണർ ഒലെ കിപ്പർ പറഞ്ഞു. കരിങ്കടലിൽ ചരക്കുകപ്പലുകൾക്ക് നേരെയുള്ള റഷ്യൻ ആക്രമണങ്ങളും വർധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. യുക്രെയ്ന്റെ കാർഷിക കയറ്റുമതിയുടെ മൂന്നിൽ രണ്ട് ഭാഗവും ഈ പാത വഴിയാണ് നടക്കുന്നത്.
